Our Ever Changing Life

Okay, so it has been like 6 months since I last posted, which is pretty sad.  We have been SOO busy that I just haven't even had the time...but I am going to try and be better (I mean what is the point of having a blog/online journal if I'm not keeping up on it).  Here is what has been going on since last August, when I last posted:

August/September:  I was substitute teaching and Juan was still working with AECOM (the contractors at NASA/Ames).  Life was pretty boring, actually, and I just had nothing to write about......and then things got crazy.....

October:  In addition to substituting just about every day I started teaching an after school math program 3 days a week and tutoring a few days as well.  Juan started working weekends as well as weekdays so between my 3 jobs and his working 7 days a week (sometimes 12 hour days) we didn't have time for anything and pretty much never saw each other.  I'm pretty sure the only time we spent together was when we were both asleep....kinda sad.

November:  More like end of Oct/ beginning of Nov - we find out that I'm pregnant.  Wooohooo.  Very exciting of course.  Juan is still working CRAZY hours and I'm still staying busy with my jobs....Not to mention that I'm taking online classes to get my CLAD endorsement (for teaching English language learners in California).  Juan's sister Gaby came to stay with us for Thanksgiving, which was sooo much fun (even though my morning sickness stage was just starting to kick in and I was a little bit lame).

December:  I got a job at an elementary school as a 1-1 aide to a fifth grade student.  It worked out nicely because this is the same school that I teach the after school program at.  Now I'm working everyday and after school and tutoring some days and dealing with homework from my online class....GAH!  Thankfully we got a nice break for Christmas when we visited Juan's family in Texas.

January/February:  Still going with the jobs...though Juan finally stopped working weekends so we see each other at least every now and then.  AND...........Juan was just offered (and he accepted) a new job!  This is great because he was working on a contract and now he's not.  I only have 2 more weeks of my online classes (and I can't wait to be done...I at least need to have my evenings back), we are looking for a new apartment (a bit bigger and less....old...), I'm looking kinda chunky, and the baby is starting to kick away...a very weird but cool sensation.  Ultimately....life is good and we are blessed :).
16 weeks (I'm 18 now and even bigger)
